Free Music

Since I got my first guitar when I was 12 years old I've been writing songs and creating music.

I am proud to present the progression of my journey as a writer, singer and entertainer for your enjoyment. I started by posting "Seasons" for you, and then went chronologically back in time from there!

All the music can be downloaded for FREE!

You'll find any music videos and/or live performances in the Film Projects section of this site!

(PS - This is me and Bella - my life's greatest creation by far!)
Scrolling down this page will take you on a musical journey back through time, one that documents (in sometimes painfully off-key detail) the progression of my unique creations as a songwriter. You will also find a more in-depth personal reflection of those times under the MUSIC PROJECTS page of this site.

PLEASE take it all! I want you to enjoy it!

SEASONS (2006-2008)

57 Songs. 5 Discs. 1 Short Film.
1 Original Album Experience.

Seasons consists of 4 CDs (one disc each for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter) and 1 DVD (Seasons: A Film Journey). 57 songs span across the four seasons, representing a young man’s expanding consciousness through the journey of his own mortality. The companion DVD, Seasons: A Film Journey, is a visual representation of the album realized in a well crafted, stylish, and professional short film. An extended, four-song, concept music video shot in HD.

I wrote, performed, produced, recorded, mixed and designed "Seasons" entirely myself at my apartment in Vancouver from 2006-2008. I proudly give you my creative offerings in exchange for sharing them with friends and (hopefully!) seeing you at one of my shows sometime!

(PS - Bonus items included in the download!)

THE-SAD-SONG-SESSIONS - GLASS HALF FULL (2011)

Recorded during a 3-week period during November of 2011, these recordings of ad-libs, spontaneous creations and a handful of previous ideas was the fruit of a serious battle with depression that gripped me during the past year.

I wanted to open up this part of my creative process as it was the best form of counselling I undertook and in hopes that it might offer a small glimmer of hope to anyone else who is affected by this silent killer.

I'm happy to report that I've moved through to the other side thanks in large part to the love & support of a few close friends and family and I've never felt better about this life.

(while they'r written during a painful period there is some really cool shit that lies within these recordings. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!)

BLACK HAT VILLAIN - MY GENERATION (2009-2011)

Although this was not an official release by my first band,
Heavy Sun, I wanted to have an online digital home for the tunes we did manage to record ourselves during those years together from 1994-2002.

The original lineup changed in 1998 when Jason and I moved to Vancouver to pursue music as a career. Unfortunately it wasn't in the cards but the eventual process of looking for and finding a new drummer led me to Clayton Wolsey which in turn led me to form
The Next T-Shirt and bring my merits as a songwriter to the forefront.

Once again this is not an official album nor artwork but it's something shiny to look at while browsing the depths of my musical past.

On behalf of all of us, I hope you enjoy some of the gems we created together.

UNRELEASED GEMS (1999-2011)

These are the songs that were pre-production demos, lost, forgotten, didn't make the cut or had no funds left to be supported.

Some of them are studio recordings and others are spontaneous moments of time captured on tape.

Most are solo efforts but a few are collaborative efforts.

See if you can uncover which is what and where and how.

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into the process and meeting some good friends of mine.

THE NEXT T-SHIRT - THE FIFTH FLOOR (2004-2006)

Recorded at the Warehouse Studios in Vancouver, this 5 song EP was the last recording
The Next T-Shirt did together as a band.

THE NEXT T-SHIRT - SELF-TITLED (2003)

Recorded over a 10 month period at our drummer's apartment on the Lower Eastside of Vancouver, BC, this 8-song self-titled album marked the official debut of
The Next T-Shirt.

(As a side note, this is not the original album art but alas I have no more physical copies left!)
